A Bad Espanish Habit

A lot of you Espanish espeaking estudents say e before S words when you espeak. If a word doesn’t begin with E don’t pronounce it. You must estop this bad habit! This usually occurs with words beginning with S and another consonant.






1) Practice saying the following words (without e):

stop / street / station

2) Now try these word pairs:

bus stop / this street / police station

When you combine these words, the last sound of the first word is the first sound of the second word: 

bustop / thistreet / polistation

3) Now practice some other commonly mispronounced words:

Spain / speak / snow / ski / slow / smoke / spaghetti / style

4) And these combinations:

sunny Spain / speak Spanish slowly / non-smoking section

scary screenplay / simple lifestyle  

Now that you are aware, it's really not that hard to pronounce S words, is it?!
