The Fire Extinguisher Sign
I found this sign below on the cover of a fire extinguisher on a Barcelona subway train. There's a grammatical error in the English translation. What's wrong with it? Can you figure out what it is?
Answer: The English translation should read: "in case of fire, hiT_ and removE_ the plastic." Here the infinitive form of the verbs "hit" and "remove" must be used in the imperative tense, which we use to give orders. To learn more, check out the entry about the imperative tense.
