At the Movies

We’re in the middle of the awards’ ceremony season[1]. There are the Oscar’s, the Grammy’s, the Tony’s and the Emmy’s, just to name a few. Even though you missed the premieres[2], the Goya’s provide a second opportunity to see all those Spanish movies that didn’t interest you… until they were nominated for an award! So buy your popcorn[3] and sit yourself down in a nice cozy[4] seat in the middle of the row… it’s time to talk about the movies!

(Let's go back in time to 2007) There are several good films on[5] at the moment. I believe The Orphanage is still playing[5] in theaters. You’re not interested in seeing it? Maybe I can convince you. Let me tell you what it is about[6]? Well, let me explain the plot[7]to you. First of all, it’s a horror movie set in[8] modern times. I believe it takes place[9] on the Asturian coast. I’m not sure but it looks like[10] it was shot on location [11]. It is directed by Juan Antonio Bayona. And it stars[12] Belen Rueda, who plays the part[13] of Laura. Laura returns to her abandoned childhood home, an old orphanage, which she wants to convert into a home for disabled children. Her son meets an invisible friend, and after a fight with Laura, he goes missing[14]! Laura’s search for her lost son brings her into contact with the supernatural world! Don’t miss[15] this film, it is on at a theater near you!
