(Chinese) New Year’s Resolutions

So tell me, a month and a half later, how are you doing with your New Year’s resolutions[1]. Have you already broken them! Or not even start them! Well, in you’re in luck! February 14th is not only Valentine’s Day, but it’s also the Chinese New Year of the Tiger! What a coincidence! If I were an astrologist, I would definitely think that the Sun, Moon and Earth are aligned in your favor! This is a second chance to have a fresh start (have a new opportunity), or to turn over a new leaf (begin behaving better than before)!

You’re probably thinking that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. Well, you’re wrong! You’re never too old to learn something new. Don’t be a stick in the mud[2]. Don’t be a couch potato[3]. Turn off the TV and get off that sofa! It’s time to breathe new life into something old (time to turn something boring into something interesting)! It’s time to break new ground (time to do something that has never been done before)!

You may have to start from scratch (begin at zero without any means). But that’s no problem for a resourceful person like you. You’ll find new doors (or new opportunities) will be opened to you.

Rather than plunge to new depths (end up even worse than now), you’ll be given a new lease on life (feel better than before)! You’ll see that this year will be a whole new ballgame (a totally different situation from what you’re used to)!

Well, why are you still sitting there? This time, start off the year of the tiger on the right foot (start the year properly)!
