The Six Nations Championship

Right now, The Six Nations Championship, an annual, international rugby tournament involving England, France, Ireland, Italy, Scotland and Wales, is being held in Cardiff, Wales. The site of the games alternate between the participating countries each year. Each team plays every other team once. Two pioints are awarded[1] for a win, and one for a tie, or draw. The team with the most points is obviously the Champion. If a team wins all of its games, it wins what is called a Grand Slam. If one of the so-called home-nation teams, the original rugby tournament countries including England, Ireland, Scotland or Wales, wins all of its games against the three other home-nation teams, they win the Triple Crown. There are lesser trophies based on individual matches[2] between countries. These include the Calcutta Cup given to the winner of the England-Scotland match, the Millenium Trophy for the victor[3] between England and Ireland, and the Garibaldi Trophy disputed between France and Italy. in The team that finishes at the end of the table earns the dubious[4] Wooden Spoon.
