Over Easy

Over Easy[1] There are some words in the English language that are very versatile, and over is definitely one of them. Some of over’s common uses include higher than, more than, the other side and covering.

higher than
There is a lamp over the table.
She looked over his shoulder to read the newspaper.
Bend over and take a closer look.
He stood over me with an evil smile!

more than
Over three thousand people attended the rally.
This game is recommended for children over six years old.
He’s old. He just turned 50! He is over the hill!
This book is over and above the best work he’s ever written.

the other side
We’re over here, in the garden.
They live over there, at the end of the street.
She came over to say hello to him.
Move over and give me some space to sit!
You can now turn over the paper and start the test.

Over is useful to think about things.

On the one hand, over can mean again. But on the other hand, when you’re tired of things repeating, over can mean the end!
