The Golden Raspberry Awards, better-known as The Razzies (short for raspberry[1]), are the Anti-Oscar Awards. The Razzies reward the worst performances of the seventh art. This award ceremony is held the day before the Oscars. It was first held in 1981.
So why are they called The Razzies? Blowing a raspberry is when you stick out your tongue and blow, a typical gesture of disapproval. A few brave actors are modest enough to go to the ceremony to accept their dubious[2] award.
